History of Car: First registered 27th July, 1962 in Victoria. Sold to Peter Speirs, January 1968 (for $1,600) with 38,500 miles. Taken off the road after accident, Great Ocean Road in 1971, at approximately 48,000 miles. While awaiting right front guard and sill repairs, Peter Speirs and car moved to Queensland Gold Coast. Sold, still unrepaired to Rod Johnson in 1995. Dismantled, sills and guard done and body repainted black, as commissioned by Rod Johnson. Sold, still uncompleted to Brian Barford in 1996. Reassembly completed in 2006 by Brian Barford. At one time during its time in Victoria, this car was fitted with a fixed hardtop, which entailed removal of the tonneau panel and boot lid. (“Looked like an E-Type gone horribly wrong.”). Valve grind: 25,000 miles. Rings: 30,000 miles Big ends and clutch: 35,000 miles. Fitted at some time in Victoria with “Perfectune” cylinder head which entails, apparently, :ports reshaped and polished, lightened tappets (did they mean rocker arms?), matched manifolds, with, allegedly 9.5:1 compression ratio (I’m sceptical; runs fine on 95 octane fuel.)
